New sections and features

Link index section

A brand new Link index section gives merchants an easy way to build structured lists of links, perfect for A to Z brand directories, B2B collection indexes, or any long list that needs to be organized neatly. You can arrange links in columns, rows, or a mix of both. This is also the very first section in Athens to be built with Shopify’s new theme blocks, making it more flexible than ever. The Link index also marks the beginning of a new family of Flexi sections, highly adaptable content sections designed for complex use cases. More Flexi sections will be introduced in upcoming releases.

AI-powered Sidekick support

We’ve added a _blocks.liquid file that allows Sidekick to generate blocks natively in your theme.

Smarter checkout experience

• Coupon code support in the minicart and cart page.
• Cart footer section: button blocks can now hide dynamic checkout buttons.

Theme settings improvements

• Final discounted price color.
• Show or hide vendor in the minicart.
• Override “Quick View” button text globally.

B2B bulk ordering enhancements

• Option to toggle or hide variant images.
• Section automatically hides when catalog mode is enabled.
• Price and other elements are hidden when “Login for price” is enabled.

Filters section

Comparison section upgrades

• New Metafield block to show single metafields.
• “Show current product first” option.
• Range indicator block now respects colors in previews and placeholders.

Product page improvements

• Countdown timer block: now only shows when a variant on sale has an active countdown.
• Global event listeners for mini cart control.

Fixes and refinements

• Collection grid section: improved card heading styles.
• Main and Featured product sections: better block.shopify_attributes placement for stronger editor support.
• Comparison sections: hidden lines no longer take up space, and row titles no longer affect whether rows are considered empty.
• Product comparison section: now correctly limits products sourced from metafields.
• Square radius setting now produces true 0px corners.
• Improved sticky product info offset with header detection.
• Simple collections list section: improved responsive styles.
• Slideshow section: smoother autoplay and manual navigation handling.
• Mega menus: fixed issue where static images on the side would not appear after using products as side items.
• All product sections: range indicator block now hides when empty.
