How to enable RTL on your store

This section was introduced in version 3.1.0

RTL (Right-to-Left) layout adjusts the text and layout direction for languages that are read from right to left, such as Arabic or Hebrew, ensuring a natural and user-friendly browsing experience.

Steps to Enable RTL for Your Theme

Follow the steps below to enable Right-to-Left (RTL) text direction for the selected language in your Shopify theme.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings.
2. In the settings menu, click on Languages.
3. Click Add Language, choose the language you want to enable RTL for, and click Publish.
4. Under Published Languages, select the language you want to edit and click the Translate link, then choose the Translate & Adapt option.
5. In Translate & Adapt, select Default Theme Content from the center list.

6. In Default Theme Content, select Localization from the left sidebar menu.

7. In the Localization section, locate the row labeled Localization: Text Direction and Source: English. Under the selected language (e.g. Hebrew), you will see an empty field. Type rtl into this field and click Save.
