Social media gallery section

Last update:

The Socia media gallery section allows you to showcase and link images that are available on your social media, directing your customers to your social media accounts, and gives you the chance to increase your followers and loyal customer base.

Section settings

Heading + Subheading: Set a title and subtitle for this section. Both are optional.

Link label + Link: With these settings you can create a button that will appear at the top right corner of your banners section. For example if you have used this section to showcase products used in real-life settings, you can add a button with a link to a collection or page called “Shop the look”.

Layout

Desktop layout: With the “Grid” option you can create a typical grid layout of images. A “Slider” option is also available that lets you create a simple slider layout. For this to work, the number of images added in this section must be greater than the number of images visible as set by the setting Number of columns on desktop.

Number of columns on desktop: Sets the number of columns (1 to 8) on desktop devices.

Stack on mobile: By default, Athens will try to create a flexible scrollable horizontal list of banners on mobile. If you prefer to create a vertical list of banners though, simply enable this option.

Image ratio: This option allows you to select the ratio of the thumbnails that will appear on the image cards. “Adapt to image” means that the ratio will be the inherent ratio of the image. Portrait, Square (default), and Landscape will force the images to be displayed as portrait, square, or landscape ratios respectively.

Enable image crop: When enabled, this option forces all images to fill the available space, as affected by the Image ratio option, effectively cropping the image. When disabled, images will be resized so that they are fully visible. This might leave some whitespace around the image, depending on its dimensions. This option has no effect when Image ratio is set to Adapt to image.

Auto-rotate slides: Enables auto-rotation of the slides, as affected by the Rotate every option. This option only applies when Desktop layout is set to Slider.

Rotate every: Sets the number of seconds to wait (3 to 9) before slider are auto-rotated. This option only applies when Desktop layout is set to Slider and Auto-rotate slides is enabled.

Colors

Color scheme: Select one of the predefined color schemes as defined in Theme settings > Colors. For more information regarding the color schemes please refer to our article about creating your own color scheme.

Section spacing

The section spacing settings gives you the option to adjust the top & bottom section spacing values. Please note: If you select a color scheme with a background color, these settings will affect the spacing between the top or bottom of the section and the content of the section.

Image block

This section consists of “Image” blocks representing each card, with the following settings (all optional):

Image: Set an image for the particular card.

Icon: The icon that will be displayed over the image when hovered. Normally this will be the social media site’s icon, but you can choose any icon you want.

Image description: A short, non-visible description of the image, for customers using screen readers.

Link: The URL where the image should link to (social media account, page, collection, product, external link etc).

Open link in a new window: When enabled, the link will be opened in a new window or tab (depends on the user’s browser).
