Multicolumn section
Last update:
The Multicolumn section is a flexible section that gives you the ability to display relevant content with image, title, text, and a button, split into multiple columns.
Section settings

Heading: Set a title for this section. This is optional.
Heading size: Adjust the size of your heading to make your message stand out. Available options: Small, Normal, Large, Extra large, and Extra extra large.
Subheading: Set a subheading for this section. This is optional.
Heading alignment: Choose whether you want the heading and sub-heading of this section to be left or center aligned.
Number of columns: Choose in how many columns you want your content to be split into (2-6). Note that for optimal viewing you will typically want to add the same or multiples of the number of “Column blocks”.
Button label + Button link: Set values on these two fields if you want to display a button under the section (independent of links for each column).
Layout
Image ratio: This option allows you to select the ratio of the images that will appear on the cards. “Adapt to image” means that the ratio will be the inherent ratio of each image. Portrait, Square, and Landscape will force the images to be displayed as portrait, square, or landscape ratios respectively.
Container width: Select either “Wide” or “Full” for the section’s container width. Choosing “Wide” extends the section a few pixels beyond the page’s boundaries on the left and right, whereas “Full” expands the section to cover the entire width of the viewport. This setting is designed to work along with a color scheme that contrasts the base background (i.e. Accent colors or Background 2).
Column
Heading Size: Select the heading size. Options: Small, Normal, Large.
Text Size: Choose the size for the text from options like Small, Normal, and Large.
Mobile layout
Heading Size: The heading size in mobile devices. Options: Small, Normal, Large.
Colors
Color scheme: Select one of the predefined color schemes as defined in Theme settings > Colors. For more information regarding the color schemes please refer to our article about creating your own color scheme.
Section spacing
The section spacing settings give you the option to adjust the top & bottom section spacing values. Please note: If you select a color scheme with a background color, these settings will affect the spacing between the top or bottom of the section and the content of the section.
SEO
Heading tag: Select the appropriate heading level (H1, H2, or H3) based on how you want the section title to appear.
Visibility
Show section on desktop: Enable or disable the section’s visibility on desktop devices.
Show section on mobile: Enable or disable the section’s visibility on mobile devices.
Hide section if…: Enable this option when the section’s fields are bound to dynamic sources (i.e. metafields or metaobjects). The section will be hidden on the front-end if the most important field(s) are empty, i.e. when there is no meaningful output.

This section consists of multiple “Column blocks” with the following settings (all optional):
- Image: The image of the column.
- Custom width: Set a custom width for the image.
- Heading: The title of the column.
- Description: A brief description of the column.
- Link label + Link: Filling this in will display a link under the column.
